LONDON, UK: After closely monitoring the situation and working with various authorities regarding the current coronavirus pandemic and its effect on event postponements and cancellations, the organisers of the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS) 2020 have announced that they have decided to postpone the event to 11–12 September 2020. It had been scheduled to take place on 15–16 May.

BDCDS is widely regarded as the UK’s largest dental education and trade show, and this year’s event will feature over 250 expert speakers and more than 400 dental suppliers and offer 180 hours of accredited enhanced continuing professional development credits.

In their announcement on the meeting’s home page, the organisers have stated that they will be postponing BDCDS 2020 in order to protect people’s safety during the coronavirus outbreak. “Postponing the show now is the responsible approach and right decision, offering dentists and their teams certainty at an early stage. We look forward to participating in a successful show in September,” said BDA Chief Executive Martin Woodrow.

The BDCDS team has thanked everyone for their continued support during these difficult times and stated that it will be contacting those registered individually to assist them with any questions regarding the event.

The 2020 event will still take place in Hall 5 of the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham. More information about the event can be found here.

By 22 March, a total of 6,650 cases of COVID-19 and 335 associated deaths had been confirmed in the UK.
