AL-HOFUF, Saudi Arabia: COVID-19 has not only impeded access to healthcare, but also caused fear and anxiety among healthcare workers. After conducting a study to understand how dentists in different parts of the world are coping with the fear of acquiring the disease and what strategies and modifications dental practices are implementing in order to combat SARS-CoV-2, researchers have highlighted the devastating psychological effects that the disease has had on dental professionals.
JAKARTA, Indonesia: The Indonesian Medical Association has confirmed that 24 medical professionals have died in the country from COVID-19, six of whom were dentists. Not all of those who died were working on the front line in the battle against the illness. The government’s COVID-19 response team has called on the health ministry to protect doctors and dentists by advising them to close their practices.
RIMINI, Italy: UNIDI, the Italian Dental Industry Association and organiser of Expodental Meeting in Rimini, has just announced that the 2020 event, which was scheduled to take place in May, will be postponed to 17–19 September.
